We Believe In The Great Outdoors
Situated on Pen Back Farm, Cowpots Camping offer 18 Ensuite pitches in the beautiful Welsh countryside. We call our lower camping field “Tree Field” because it has a beautiful Welsh Oak tree in the middle of it. It is a huge 11 acre field, the same size as the roof that covers Wembeley stadium! Our two new camping fields are the two fields directly above Tree field, spanning another 7 acres! Accessed by a farm track and 600m away from the farm buildings you’ll be sure to find some peace and quiet in the countryside, surrounded by nature. Pen Back Farm is on the border of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire so we have excellent access to the delights and sights of both counties and we are only 15 minutes away from the closest beach.
Beautiful rural Location
Great Camping Facilities
We now have 18 pitches at Cowpots! Each pitch has its own eco-friendly bathroom pod, with a composting loo, a private off-grid shower with plenty of hot water, its own water supply and a washing up area, a picnic bench and a stone fire pit.
All our pitches are large, with long grass and space in-between to offer you some privacy. This year we have also planted some willow and trees to offer more privacy between pitches. Each pitch has plenty of space for your tent to allow for a comfortable stay.
We have an honesty shop containing fire wood for your camp fire and various other goodies for your stay.
Greener Camping
Cowpots Camping are part of The Greener Camping Club. This fantastic club enable us to run our little green campsite in a sustainable and eco friendly way. When you stay at Cowpots you will need one Greener Camping Membership for your group.
Camp on Our Family Farm
Pen Back farm is a fully working farm. Tractors will be using the farm but not often. It’s important that you read the signs on the closed gates and stay in areas allocated to campers. We have a new, larger field designated to dog walking in 2021, with beautiful views overlooking the Preseli Hills!
Wildlife & Woodland Walks
There will be plenty of wildlife on the farm. Birds of Prey and Rabbits are common as well as the usual animals you would expect to find in the countryside. Last year we saw some foxes as well.
Below the campsite in Tree Field, is a lovely woodland area to walk through and a slopey 4 acre pasture to explore.
We have now opened up almost all of our fields for walking and have opened out 3 new routes into the woods!
ROOM TO CAMP & PLAY
Tree Field is an 11 acre field, the biggest field on the farm. The 10 pitches are spread across half of the field – there is around 35 meters between each pitch so there is lots of space.
There is a small playing field in the middle of all of the pitches for a ball to be kicked around or maybe a game of rounders in the evening. This area is for everyone, even campers staying in other fields.
Our new pitches are situated in the two fields above Tree Field, spanning another 7 acres and home to only 8 more pitches!
The field overlooks Whitland and you can see the Preseli mountains in North Pembrokshire in the distance.
Ice Cream & Woodfired Pizza
at The Cowshed
Tree Field is about a 10 minute walk with children away from the cowshed where you will find some tasty treats! Try our pizzas, made from scratch and cooked in the woodfired pizza oven. Pudding? At Cowpots we make our own luxury dairy ice cream so there is always plenty of flavours to try.
BOOK A CAMPING PITCH
The campsite at Cowpots will be open from April to October.
