Green Camping

On our family farm in Ciffig, West Wales
Our Campsite

We Believe In The Great Outdoors

Situated on Pen Back Farm, Cowpots Camping offer 10 pitches for in the beautiful Welsh countryside. We call the camping field “Tree Field” because it has a beautiful Welsh Oak tree in the middle of it. It is a huge 11 acre field, the same size as the roof that covers Wembeley stadium! Accessed by a farm track and 600m away from the farm buildings you’ll be sure to find some peace and quiet in the countryside, surrounded by nature. Pen Back Farm is on the border of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire so we have excellent access to the delights and sights of both counties and we are only 15 minutes away from the closest beach.

The Cowshed Pizzeria and Ice Cream Tree Field has two eco-friendly composting loo’s, two off-grid showers with plenty of hot water and a washing up shed with honesty shop containing fire wood for your camp fire and various other goodies for your stay.Β Each pitch has its own under cover area with a picnic table, water canister, washing up bowl and a fire pit with plenty of space for your tent to allow for a comfortable stay.

Beautiful rural Location

Cowpots camping is close to Narberth and Tenby on the Pembrokeshire / Camrmarthenshire border. The farm is full of wildlife and our closest beach is only a short 20 minute drive away! We think Cowpots is the perfect spot for exploring whether you stay on site or venture off into the surrounding countryside. The campsite is close to some great tourist spots but hidden just out of the way to ensure you get that peaceful country feel.

Greener Camping

Cowpots Camping are part of The Greener Camping Club. This fantastic club enable us to run our little green campsite in a sustainable and eco friendly way. When you stay at Cowpots you will need one Greener Camping Membership for your group (currently Β£10 per calander year).

Camp on Our Family Farm

Pen Back farm is a fully working farm and during the summer months our small herd of Jersey cows will be in the fields above the Campsite. Tractors will be using the farm but not often.

Wildlife & Woodland Walks

There will be plenty of wildlife on the farm. Birds of Prey and Rabbits are common as well as the usual animals you would expect to find in the countryside. Last year we saw some foxes as well.

Below the campsite in Tree Field, is a lovely woodland area to walk through and a slopey 4 acre pasture to explore.

Tree Field is an 11 acre field, the biggest field on the farm. The 10 pitches will be spread across half of the field – there will be around 35 meters between each pitch so there will be lots of space.

There is a small playing field in the middle of all of the pitches for a ball to be kicked around or maybe a game of rounders in the evening.

The field overlooks Whitland and you can see the Preseli mountains in North Pembrokshire in the distance.Β

Ice Cream & Woodfired Pizza
at The Cowshed

Tree Field is about a 10 minute walk with children away from the cowshed where you will find some tasty treats!Β Try our pizzas, made from scratch and cooked in the woodfired pizza oven. Pudding? At Cowpots we make our own luxury dairy ice cream so there is always plenty of flavours to try.

The campsite at Cowpots will be open from April to October.

Cowpots Camping

Setting up camp is a busy part of camping, but so rewarding when you get to see this at the end of the day! Photo thanks to one of our loyal families - who made it to us twice this year!
