Our FAMILY FARM

Seven humans, eleven cows, one dog, one cat and hundreds of baby Christmas trees

It’s all about Family

We are are a close knit family and all of the animals (and people) on the farm are very important to us. Our animals are much more like pets to us than livestock and we hope you will enjoy spending time with them as much as we do. They can be inquisitive and nervous (just like the humans) so please be kind to them and observe from a distance.

The Cowpots Family

Currently we are 7 humans, eleven cows, one dog, one cat and hundreds of baby christmas trees.

The Cows

The Cows

We have 11 cows on the farm at the moment. They are a pedigree herd of Jersey cows and are very special to us. They will likely be grazing the hills above the campsite and you will likely be able to see them from your pitch. They can be fairly inquisitive and nosey so may come up to a fence or hedge to say hello. It's important that you dont enter any of the fields with cows in. Although they are friendly they are animals and must not be trusted, they don't understand etiquette and social graces and might accidentally hurt you.

Maisie the collie

Maisie the collie

She might be growling at your feet but there's no bite in her! Very fond of playing with children and children with her but dont let a football near her!

Baby Christmas Trees

Baby Christmas Trees

We are in the early years of growing Christmas trees, you'll see them planted in rows in a few of the farm fields. Please be kind to them and don't allow them to be damaged in any way.

Winston the cat

Winston the cat

Can be a grumpy at times but enjoys a peaceful scratch on the neck. Seems to be very much in charge of Maisie, or, so he thinks!

PLEASE Respect Farm Life

All of the animals on the farm are very important to us. They are much more like pets to us than livestock so we require all of our customers to respect this. Penback Farm is a working farm which means that there will be times that tractors will use the lane that leads to the campsite in order to do the necessary operations of farm life. the woods will be topped and there will be grass to mow all over the farm. We are also in the early years of growing Christmas trees, you’ll see them planted in rows in a few of the farm fields so please don’t allow them to be damaged in any way

BOOK A CAMPING PITCH
